How to Register for the Course

  1. From the homepage, click on the 'Service Members' icon if you are a Service member, or click on the 'Family Member/Civilian Employee' icon if you are family/civilian employee.
  2. To enter the course for the first time, you will need to register. Click on the 'Click Here' button. This will bring you to the registration page.
  3. Provide your name, e-mail address, branch and installation. You must complete each field to proceed. You will also be required to enter a unique username and password. Make your username and password as unique as possible by adding numbers to letters, like 'bob123', or letters to numbers, like '345fig'. Be sure to write these down so that you may return to the course later if you log off or lose your connection to the Internet. Also, please note the date when you write down your username and password.
  4. Read the eligibility rules and click on the box next to the statement attesting your eligibility.
  5. Click on 'Continue' to complete registration.
  6. Begin to take your course.
  7. If you wish to end your session, Exit the session.
  8. To resume the course at a later time, return to the homepage and select either the 'Service Members' or 'Family Member/Civilian Employee' icon that you had previously chosen. Enter your username and password that you chose during the registration process, and click login.

Browser Considerations for All Users

Please make sure your browser:

  • Has JavaScript enabled
  • Has Flash installed
  • Has pop-up blocker disabled
  • Is set to accept all cookies from our sites. Here are instructions for configuring Internet Explorer and Firefox to accept cookies for Peterson’s:
  • For Microsoft Internet Explorer without Service Pack 2 installed. If you have Service Pack 2 installed please see below:

    1. Click 'Tools' tab at the top of the screen.
    2. Click 'Internet Options' (This will open a small window).
    3. Click the 'Privacy' tab at the top of that small window.
    4. Click on the 'Edit' button.
    5. Then, you will be given a space where you can enter the 'Address of a Web site'
    6. In that space, please type in nelnetsolutions.com
    7. Then, Click the 'Allow' button.
    8. Then, add onlinetests.petersonstestprep.com in the same way nelnetsolutions.com was added.
    9. Then click 'OK' to close.

    If you have Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed:

    1. Click 'Tools' tab at the top of the screen.
    2. Click 'Internet Options' (This will open a small window).
    3. Click the 'Privacy' tab at the top of that small window.
    4. Click on the 'Settings' button.
    5. Then, you will be given a space where you can enter the 'Address of a Web site'.
    6. In that space, please type in nelnetsolutions.com.
    7. Then, Click the 'Add' button.
    8. Then, add onlinetests.petersonstestprep.com in the same way nelnetsolutions.com was added.
    9. Then click 'Close' to close.

    Firefox:

    1. Click 'Tools' tab at the top of the screen.
    2. Click 'Options' (This will open a small window).
    3. Click the 'Privacy ICON' at the top of that small window.
    4. Click the 'Cookies' tab at the top of that small window.
    5. Click the 'Exceptions ICON'.
    6. Then, you will be given a space where you can enter the 'Address of a Web site'.
    7. In that space, please type in nelnetsolutions.com.
    8. Then, Click the 'Allow' button.
    9. Then, add onlinetests.petersonstestprep.com in the same way nelnetsolutions.com was added.
    10. Then click 'Close' to close.
    11. Then click 'OK'.
